Roulette Tips

No matter what, roulette is, and always will be, a game of chance. Everything is possible and nothing can be guaranteed. However, there are several techniques you can use to tip the balance into your favour as much as possible.

Using our tips, you’ll have a better chance when playing roulette. We don’t have anything which can assure you a win (sorry! And if someone tells you they do, they’re lying!), nevertheless we have compiled a list which will help you gain the upper hand and also save you as much money as you can!

Of course, you can also take a look at our roulette systems. These are strategies developed by mathematical professionals which will give you a plan to use when playing roulette. We have gone through every roulette system known to man and picked out the best and most profitable strategies for you to use.

So without further ado, we present to you 10 tips to save you money in roulette!

1. Embrace European

Playing European roulette will give you much better odds than American roulette. Why? Because of that pesky 00 slot that you’ll find on all American roulette wheels. The 00 slot will give the house a better advantage, as both the 0 and 00 slots aren’t included in any outside bets. Playing European (or French) roulette takes away a slight advantage from the casino and gives it back to you.

This is one of the many ways you can increase the odds into your favour, and the better the odds are, the more chance you have of winning, which is something you’ll always want to keep in mind when playing roulette.

2. Choose Your Game

Many casinos won’t just offer one version of roulette; in fact quite a few places will offer a multitude of different roulette varieties. This can vary from traditional forms of roulette, in either virtual format or with a live dealer, to some extreme ideas which can completely change how you view the game (pinball roulette for example).

If you’ve been paying attention, then you’ll know that no matter what version you play, you’ll still want to make sure you’re playing the European one if it is offered. Find a style of roulette you enjoy and stick with it!

3. Get Some Practice In

This is a must. Practise, practise until you think you’ve practised enough, then practise some more. The more experience you get under your belt the better you’re going to do. A lot of casinos will offer free versions on most of their roulette games, so you can get in some practice for free. This is great as it means you can go from a new-comer to a roulette prodigy without having to spend a penny!

Not every variety of roulette will have a free-to-play option, however the basic versions will, and if you can master the basics then the more complicated stuff won’t be hard to manage.

4. Find A Casino Suited To You

There are plenty of online casinos out there, all different to each other in so many ways. But how will you know which one to pick? Well, the best way of doing this is by exploring. You can visit our reviews section to get a good idea of what casinos have offers that interest you, or you could jump straight in and have a look at the website itself.

You’ll want to find a casino that is tailored to you; this will make playing a lot more fun and also make it more likely for you to win money.

5. Know Your Limits

So, you’re now prepared. You’ve chosen where you’re going to play and what you’ll be playing. Now it’s just a matter of playing, right? Wrong. There are still a few things you’ll want to be aware of whilst playing. The first of these is to know how much you’ll be playing with.

Always have a plan on how much you’re willing to lose, regardless of whether you lose it or not then you’ll have a definitive stopping point set up in your mind. You can also choose to have a time limit, or even a winning limit, the important bit is knowing when to stop playing and walk away.

6. Stash Your Winnings

This is something that a lot of strategies will ask you to do anyway, however it’s always a good plan even when you’re playing casually. When you win some chips, set them aside (physically or psychologically, it doesn’t matter), this way you don’t start spending your winnings trying to catch up on losses.

It’s also a good plan as you might hit your ‘loss limit’ but have enough chips in your winnings pile to let you leave the table with more money than you came with. This happens more often than not, so this isn’t just a pleasant surprise, but a common one too.

7. Know The Odds

The roulette table can seem quite confusing when you take your first peek at it, but it’s actually a lot easier than it seems. Take your time to learn what each bet includes and what their pay-outs are, some are easy to understand (like black/red or odd/even) whilst otherwise may not be as obvious at first.

Once you know the bets then the game becomes a lot easier. Knowing where to place your bets and how you can get the best for your chips is a key element to playing roulette.

8. Don’t Binge and Bet

Everyone enjoys putting their feet up, opening a can of Stella and spending their free time on roulette, we’re not going to deny anyone of that. At the same time you should always be aware of how much you’re drinking. You’ll always want to keep your wits about you when you’re playing roulette and being inebriated will very rarely help.

Like I’ve said, we’re not saying you shouldn’t enjoy a beer, just make sure you aren’t absolutely plastered whilst playing, you’ll regret it in the morning (and I’m not talking about a hangover!).

9. Abuse The Bonuses

No matter where you go, you’ll have bonuses and promotions flung at you from all directions, and these are never worth ignoring. One of the first things you should do when you visit a casino is check out what extras they will offer you. Some of these may suit your playing style, others won’t, it’s all about finding your niche and sticking to it.

You’ll want to take advantage of as many of these bonuses as possible, they usually involve you getting more money for playing or recovering losses you’ve made. Check out our bonuses page if you want to know more.
